What is an Arizona ESA?
Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program lets eligible families direct a portion of state education funds toward approved educational expenses. Payments are handled through ClassWallet, the platform the Arizona Department of Education uses to connect families with approved vendors. Program rules and eligibility are set by the state — always confirm what your account covers with the Arizona Department of Education and ClassWallet.
Where sports and training fit in
Many Arizona ESA families use their accounts toward physical education, enrichment, and training with approved vendors. Whether a specific expense qualifies is determined by the ESA program — not by any single vendor — so the right move is always to verify eligibility for your account before you enroll.
How it works with Inspire Prep Academy
Inspire Academy LLC is a registered Arizona ESA vendor. ESA families enroll their student in Inspire Prep Academy — coached basketball skill development, strength and conditioning, and applied team instruction on regulation indoor hardwood in Gilbert — and we invoice ClassWallet directly for the sessions the student actually attends. Families do not submit invoices themselves. Open gym and general hourly court rental are not billed to ESA.
How the billing actually works
We record attendance at every session. Each quarter, we total only the sessions your student attended and submit that invoice to ClassWallet as a registered vendor — in arrears, never in advance. You always receive a copy of what we billed. We go over rates with you when you enroll, or on a call before that. Separately, ClassWallet adds its own 2% transaction fee to vendor payments.
What about academics?
The academic side is part of the Inspire Prep path, not something you are left to sort out alone. Your student does coursework through an online school, and we arrange that with each family directly.
